Editorial: The conception of Queernatural magazine
The general theme of the project is nature. In its broadest sense, it is equivalent to the natural world, material world, or material universe. The term refers to phenomena in the physical world, and also to life in general. I combined the general theme with something that was more familiar to me and that I understood deeply. I have a background in literature and work as a freelance journalist.
So I came up with the idea of combining nature with queerness. This theme allows me to build on something I am already familiar with and, from there, create the entire graphic universe of the magazine. The theme that will guide the creative process is queer ecology.
An eco-queer magazine that explores the plurality and diversity of queerness and the natural environment. As I aim to reach a wide audience, in addition to making the content accessible, I want it to be educational, but not overly didactic. The magazine comes along with a supplement, which consists of one sheet of A4 paper (90 g/m²). The magazine is inspired by independent fanzines and alternative culture. That's why providing the materials for a fanzine (and instructions for beginners) is the natural complement.
